REPowerEU: stop gas boilers starting from 2029

The European Union is taking steps to eliminate fossil fuel heating supplies.

Already in May 2022, the European Commission announced, through the so-called REPowerEU-programme, a ban on the production of gas boilers starting from 2029.

Today, the new energy label, which the EU is about to approve, imposes a minimum efficiency threshold of 115%. This threshold cannot be reached by gas or hydrogen boilers, nor by diesel boilers. The solutions that are compatible with the new legislation remain plants working with renewable energy, electric, gas or hybrid heat pumps and some high-efficiency cogeneration systems.
