Thanks to the European Directive 2002/96/EU, PV modules has become part of the e-waste sector.

The ECOEM consortium, the Italian institution for the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), batteries, accumulators, is recognized by the Ministry of the Environment and it has been accredited by the national energy supplier for the collection, return, treatment and recycling of photovoltaic modules at the end of their service life.

The ECOEM consortium will help you dispose of PV panels correctly. Is that necessary? No, it is not necessary… It is mandatory!
