SolarEdge Nexis: pre-orders open for the new three-phase inverter with modular battery
One three-phase inverter from 8 to 20 kW and a modular block battery. Pre-order SolarEdge Nexis with Esaving.

One part number, six power ratings
The SolarEdge Nexis three-phase inverter uses the MultiRange concept: a single part number covers every power rating: 8, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 20 kW. You set the power on site during commissioning with the SolarEdge Go app. You stock one item, order one part number and use the same model from small to large systems.
SolarEdge engineers designed the product to deliver high efficiency even at low power, day and night. You wire it without opening the cover, and you can install it indoors or outdoors.
What you need to know at the design stage:
- it works with SolarEdge P and S series power optimizers in 1:1 configuration, up to 33 optimizers per string;
- you can oversize the DC side up to 200%, as with other SolarEdge inverters.
The block battery: stack, click, secure
The SolarEdge Nexis battery is made of 4.9 kWh nominal blocks (4.65 kWh usable). Each tower, called a stack, has its own Battery Link (the BMS) and 1 to 4 blocks, up to 19.6 kWh. Each block weighs 55 kg and is 194 mm deep: you can mount it on the floor or on the wall, indoors or outdoors.
With the Simple-Click architecture you stack the blocks, click them together and secure the stack to the wall. You don’t run a single cable between blocks.
At launch you can connect up to 3 stacks per inverter, i.e. 12 blocks. The fourth stack will come with a future firmware update.
Battery Optimizer: each block works on its own
Each block has a built-in optimizer that manages it independently. If one block stops, the others keep working. If your customer wants more capacity a few years later, you add new blocks alongside the existing ones and the system recalibrates automatically.
Three levels of safety
- Cell: lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells with SolarEdge ThermoShield technology, which prevents thermal propagation from one cell to the next (UL 9540A certified).
- Block: multi-point temperature sensors monitor every block.
- Stack: IP65 protection against dust and water, operation from -20 to +55 °C and heating films for cold installations.
On the inverter you get AFCI arc fault protection compliant with IEC 63027, SafeDC, remote shutdown and SolarEdge Sense Connect at the optimizer connectors. Data travels over encrypted communications.
Backup, charging and warranty
With the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface - Three Phase (part no. SEBI-NEUNU-3P-01), Nexis powers the whole home with up to 20 kW during a blackout. The system is also compatible with the SolarEdge ONE EV Charger.
The standard warranty is 10 years. With the SolarEdge warranty extension you take it to 20 years.
Launch configuration
In this first phase SolarEdge allows one configuration only: one Nexis inverter on a new system, with 1:1 optimizers and up to 3 battery stacks.
Not supported for now:
- AC-coupled configurations;
- a Nexis section added to an existing PV system;
- multiple Nexis inverters in the same system;
- mixed systems with non-Nexis SolarEdge inverters.
